Border Guards rescue 12 sailors and swimmer in EP

Naval patrols of the Saudi Border Guards rescued 12 sailors who were stranded at sea off Alkhobar last weekend when their boat’s engine stalled, an official said on Wednesday.
Col. Khalid bin Khalifa Al-Arqoobi, spokesman of the Border Guards, said the Half Moon Bay naval patrol in Alkhobar also saved an Indian resident from drowning at Al-Mahar Beach.
Al-Arqoobi said the man was suffering from fatigue and too exhausted to swim back to the shore. “The patrol reached him in time and provided first-aid treatment. He is all right now,” he added.
In a similar incident, Jubail’s operation room received a report about a drowning Saudi citizen.
“Search and rescue patrols were immediately dispatched to the location. However, the man was very lucky to be rescued by his family who were nearby. He was transferred to hospital for treatment,” Al-Arqoobi said.
